Fall is here!Red, orange and brown are all about. That’s right, fall is here! This weekend was actually on the warm side, although we hardly played outside. This in contrast to last week’s strong winds, when we played tennis. Maybe we can play tennis once more before getting the ice skates out? Speaking of cold weather, I’m very excited to be escaping it for the holidays. We just got our tickets to Argentina and we couldn’t be more excited. We’re staying for two weeks– over hannukah, Xmas and new years! My parents are obviously extatic as well. We’ve already started planning a few get-togethers, and the foods we’ll be having! Back to the present… Friday we went to a new place called SBC, mostly to get away from Parent’s weekend here at Yale. ( when undergrad parents come to invade new haven and visit their babies). Then sat we played board games with jamie and ash, it had been so long that we forgot many of the rules. Ohh and Sunday we made empanadas, all from scratch, thanks to claudia’s recipe. Now I’m off to lab! But hopefully we’ll carve pumpkins later this week and I’ll post pictures… |
Weekend UpdateWe did a good job of boosting the economy on Saturday… We went shopping at this huge outlet mall in New York, Woodbury Commons. It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of cute new outfits and comfortable boots. We also made it to Mikki’s (very late) to watch that Adam Sandler movie, Zohan something. It was fun, Tomer made yummy pita from scratch! Sunday we went to play tennis with ThaiBinh, and I was playing so much better! Ryan’s a great and patient teacher… And then I was hit by a tennis ball, in my right eye. There was some dramatic collapsing by my part, but no blood or bruise. I need to learn to duck. Then we went home to wait for the plumber to fix our toilet. He was great, but we had to miss apple picking. Next weekend, maybe? I made bizcochuelo ( an Argentinian cake) in the meantime, which was yummy but didn’t rise. I’ll have to try again sometime. Then I ironed and watched Goodnight and Goodluck. And that was the end of another fun weekend! |
Tiny Fall UpdateHello and sorry for the lack of updates As you can probably imagine, the semester has started much to my denial. I forgot how busy I get between classes (my last one!) and labwork and SEA stuff ( Yale.edu/ sea). Plus I got a cold that I promptly gave to Ryan. So in any case here we are, shuddering after every debate ( I can’t believe people want to elect someone– our representative — that gives shout-outs in the middle of a debate. Call me an East Coast liberal, but I’m tired of being the laughing-stock of the world.) Ok that’s all for now. Don’t forget to register to vote! Griselda |
