Road Trip Pt. II: Toronto

I hope you enjoyed Part 1 of the summary of our weekend road trip. But the fun didn’t stop in Niagara!  A short two hour jaunt and we were in Toronto, Canada and on the metric system (Gas in Liters seems so cheap!).  After checking into the hotel, we quickly headed out to the top of the CN tower in order to get an eagle eye overview of the city.

Road Trip Pt. 1: Rochester/Niagara Falls

The last few posts were just a few quick pics from our new iPhones, take during our recent trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto.  Yes, G and I have jumped on the iPhone bandwagon and couldn’t be happier!  We can post from anywhere, take decent photos, and best of all are the apps!  I’ve got four pages of em!  AT&T is so much better than it was a couple years ago and the 3G speed is great.  We each got a different decal from decalgirl.com so we can tell them apart.

After picking up the phones, we were on our way to Rochester to meet up with G’s friend from her research trip in Minnesota.  She drove half of the way there and then switched, so we each had some time to play around with the new phones.  Once we got to Rochester, politeness would have to take over and we would put the phones away.

typing is dangerous

This is going to be my first post on this new blog, and my first using the voice dictation software.  Yesterday, I somehow found a way to throw out my back while typing.  Through the severe pain, I was able to finish my work but was unable to sleep very well.  I’m taking today off of work today in hopes that I can make a full recovery tomorrow.  Since typing is out of the question, now seemed as good of the time has any to finally getting around to testing the voice dictation feature of windows XP tablet edition.

After a short ten minutes training session, I was ready to begin using speech recognition. However, it has taken quite a bit longer to become acclimated with the voice commands necessary to write this post. For the most part, the software has performed quite well. I’d estimate that it recognizes nearly 90% of my words, however, that last 10% takes considerably longer to correct. Hopefully, my next post will be quicker, with less typos, and pain free.

 Ibuprofen is a wonderful thing.

Week Recap: Your love is like…

This past week has been a roller coaster of emotions.

Monday

Last Monday I was reviewing my notes, while not trying to stress out. We went to Costco in the evening to get cookies and danishes for the following day. That night Ryan used my notes to quiz me, which was really helpful (I was pretty sick of reading the same notes again and again). I also got a beautiful necklace and earrings from Ryan, as my good luck charm for the following day (he’s such a sweetie)
